Jasper Awarded T-Mobile $35,000 Hometown Grant

  • Tuesday, June 17, 2025

Jasper is one of the latest T-Mobile Hometown Grant recipients. The $35,487.15 grant will go toward installing solar powered charging benches in the Jasper Historic Courthouse Square and library, enabling citizens to stay connected near outdoor community hubs and gathering spaces. The project was submitted by the Carolyn Stewart Public Library.

The library was selected from nearly 1,000 applicants this round. Across Tennessee, T-Mobile has now provided more than $400,000 in nine cities through the initiative, including Jasper.

Since 2021, T-Mobile has invested nearly $18 million in Hometown Grants to 400 communities across 48 states and Puerto Rico. Officials said the program has helped unite people nationwide to make their communities even stronger and has generated: 1,270 new jobs, $5.3 million to help small businesses, $102.4 million in matched funding from other organizations and companies and 160,000 volunteer hours.

Each quarter, T-Mobile awards 25 Hometown Grants to small towns with populations of 50,000 or less. To apply for a Hometown Grant, click here. To learn more about this quarter’s recipients, click here.

T-Mobile will present a grant check Tuesday at 2 p.m. on the east side of the Historic Courthouse Square, 32 Courthouse Square, Jasper Town Hall.
