Marie King
Marie H. King, 96, died on December 21, 2012 at a local hospital.
She was a member of the Orchard Park SDA Church. She served her family as a homemaker. Marie’s hobbies included sewing and word puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. King; and parents, Lonnie and Nora Abner Holloway; sister, Mary Ann Blunt; brothers, Kale Holloway and Lonnie Holloway, Jr.; granddaughter, Audrey Appleberry; grandson, Johnathan Dexter King; sons-in-law, Andrew Appleberry and Napolen Jackson.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Jackson of Oceanside, Ca.; Johnnye Appleberry of Chattanooga, and son, Robert (Inetta) King, Chattanooga; five grandchildren, Gwendolyn (Melvin) Thompson, Avary Appleberry, Angela Appleberry, Bobby King, all of Chattanooga and Treva Jackson of Oceanside, Ca.; two great-grandchildren, Melyn and Marissa Thompson of Chattanooga; one great-great-grandchild, Cadence Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, Dec. 28, at Orchard Park SDA Church with Elder Martin Lister officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, Dec. 27, and the family will receive friends from 6–7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
