Pearl Harbor Veteran Retired From U.S. Post Office After 46 Years

Henry N. Harden, Jr., 87, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, April 26, 2012 in a local hospice center.  

He was born on December 4, 1924 in Nashville, to the late Mary and Henry Harden, Sr.

Mr. Harden was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran stationed at Pearl Harbor. 

He was formerly a member of East Brainerd Baptist Church and was retired from the United State Postal Service after 46 years of service.  After retirement, he worked 15 years for Bi-Lo.

His wife, Doris I. Harden preceded him in death.

Survivors include his son, Keith Harden and brother, Phillip Harden, both of Chattanooga.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 30, at 1:30 p.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel with Reverend Art Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 29, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m., and Monday, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
