Bledsoe County Middle School Principal Killed In Freak Accident

The principal of Bledsoe County Middle School was killed in a freak accident near Knoxville on Thursday.

Deborah Thompson was paying her bill at a restaurant when a car slammed into the building.

The school was on a two-hour delay on Friday.

Ms. Thompson, 58, had been in the Bledsoe County school system for 23 years and was previously a special education teacher.

Her husband was not seriously injured.

Authorities said the driver of the car is a former probation officer with multiple sclerosis.
