East Ridge Police arrested Anthony Cuevas, 27, of East Ridge, on Monday at 3:51 a.m. for attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools, and vandalism over $500.
A witness had observed Cuevas attempting to gain entry to Direct Auto Insurance Company and noticed that he would hide at the side of the building when cars would pass by. Police were dispatched at 3:43 a.m., and arrived to observe Cuevas running from the area.
Officers recognized Cuevas as the described suspect and pursued him. Recovered upon the apprehension of Cuevas were items taken during a nearby vehicle burglary. Police believe Cuevas broke out a window of Direct Auto Insurance Company using a screw driver that was recovered from the scene.
Cuevas is scheduled to appear in East Ridge Court on Tuesday.
