An engineering and custom manufacturing firm at the Centre South Riverport has filed for bankruptcy.
East Tech Company at one time was running a second shift at the facility on River Terminal Road across from the election office.
The firm is headed by Roger W. Layne.
The bankruptcy filing says the firm has between 50 and 99 creditors.
Estimated assets are between $1 million and $10 million and estimated liabilities are between $1 million and $10 million.
Attorney David Fulton is handling the Chapter 11 bankruptcy before Judge Shelley Rucker.
The filing says East Tech owes the IRS $98,794, the county $22,734, the city $30,595 and Georgia $3,900.
CapitalMark Bank & Trust is owed $79,139 under a line of credit.
The filing says Mr. Layne made a $350,000 loan to the company.
Among the list of suppliers who are owed is Metaltek International of Chattanooga, with a bill of $23,600.
