Time To Clean Up The Waterfront

  • Sunday, May 18, 2014
Why do our elected officials and the Corps of Engineers not do something about all the derelicts sitting on our waterfront? Now we have the stinking, sinking barge, Luken's white elephant and the trash-gathering Delta Queen sitting all up and down our beautiful waterfront that we have spent millions on to make desirable.

The Corps doesn't have to be handcuffed by politics like our timid mayor and staff. They can declare these thing hazards and remove them. Let the courts sort out who owns them. Nobody wants to cross Luken's with the white monstrosity that has been gathering moss for five years or so. The Queen is sitting there rotting and never has contributed monetarily to the city, and the barge...no words for the amazing patience both Berke and Littlefield have shown for their pal.

Get them out, we are sick of looking at them. What does everyone else say? Let the mayor hear from you.
