Teas, Martha Louise Hargis (South Pittsburg)

Martha Louise Hargis Teas, 70, of South Pittsburg, TN, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015, after a brief illness.

The daughter of the late Robert Columbus “Lum” and Alice Harris Hargis, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who always thought of others before herself. She was a retired loan officer of TVA Credit Union and was Past President of the Chattanooga Business Women's Association.  She love to garden and cook for her husband of 52 wonderful years and for her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas E. Teas, of South Pittsburg; sons, Thomas E. (Rachel)Teas, Jr., of Signal Mtn and Michael Jeffery (Sherry) Teas, of Chattanooga; three sisters, Kate Payne, Frances Walker and Faye Haskew; five brothers, Bob, Gene, Stanley, Jim Hargis and Tim Harris, all of South Pittsburg; two grandchildren, Paul Norman Teas and Addison Faith Teas; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Saturday, January 10 from 3-5 p.m. Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg followed by a Celebration of Life service at 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6221 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421, The Pet Placement Center, 5975 Dayton Blvd, Chattanooga, TN 37415, or the Juvenile Diabetes Association, 355 Trane Lane, Knoxville, TN 37919.

Rogers Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
