Elizabeth Elliott Wheeler, 75, of Pikeville, TN, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015.

She was born Jan 28, 1939 in Memphis, TN to the late Edward S. Elliott and Elizabeth Johnson Elliott. Betty graduated from Hutchison School in Memphis in 1956. She attended the University of Tennessee and was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. On December 28, 1959 she married Billy Frank Wheeler and moved to Pikeville. She attended Pikeville United Methodist Church and later Pikeville Church of Christ. Betty worked for several years as a teacher's aide and as a trainer in an adult literacy program. She had an exquisite eye for detail, and used this gift restoring antique furniture and creating unique, personalized crafts for her extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, William Frank Wheeler.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Frank Wheeler, Pikeville; and son, Elliott Paxton Wheeler, of Tampa, FL.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 8, at 2 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Douthat and Mr. Dennis Smith officiating. The burial will be in Pikeville Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 8 from 12-2 p.m. CST.

The arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Hwy 127 South, Pikeville, TN.
