LAUNCH And The Chattery Team Up for Life After LAUNCHing

  • Thursday, October 1, 2015

Local nonprofits LAUNCH and the Chattery are partnering to offer a Life After LAUNCHing series. These classes, aimed at entrepreneurs, will be a continuing education series covering a variety of business topics.

With three classes scheduled before the end of the year, LAUNCH and the Chattery hope to use these classes to grow the entrepreneurial community. “Chattanooga is extremely startup friendly, and our hope is to help foster that environment by offering a comfortable place for an entrepreneur to come and receive advice or explore business topics on a more in-depth level,” said the Chattery founder Jennifer Holder.

All classes will take place at LAUNCH’s office, located within Chattanooga WorkSpace, and will be taught by various business leaders and experts from the Chattanooga community. The first three classes scheduled are as follows:

Social Media 101
Thursday, Oct. 8, from 5:30-7 p.m.
The most inexpensive way to market a business is through social media, but if you don’t understand how it works your business may not gain any traction. Join two social media experts as we discuss the ins and outs of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and how to properly use them to promote your business and receive new customers and clients.

Understanding Your Company’s Finances
Thursday, Nov. 12, from 5:30-7 p.m.
Entrepreneurs don’t need to be accountants, but one of the most important elements of running any business is understanding your finances. In this class, we will review the basics of Financial Management in business.
This class will answer such questions as:
•   What does an entrepreneur need to know in order to manage the finances of a business?
•   How does a business owner protect themselves from tax problems?
•   How do I price my product or service and make sure that I am making money?
Join us in growing in your understanding of finances in order to be more successful.

Creating a Vision Board
Thursday, Dec. 10, from 5:30-7 p.m.
This is not a board of directors or an advisory board.  It’s a creative exercise that allows an entrepreneur to visualize their goals and future successes. Vision is vital to accomplishing goals - before you do it, you have to see it. This impactful process will revolutionize your ability to bring your goals to life and allow you to put your “forecast” for 2016 on paper in a creative way! Putting your ideas on paper is the first step. So let’s grab some poster board, scissors, shred up some magazines, and have a blast working on this project together.

Chattanooga WorkSpace is at 302 W. 6th St. Each class is $12. To reserve a spot, visit TheChattery.org.
