Edward Hurley
Edward Harrison Hurley, Jr., 88, of Hixson, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, October 13, 2015 at Soddy Daisy Health Care Center.
Mr. Hurley was born in Fayetteville, N.C., on Aug. 13, 1927, to the late Edward Harrison Hurley, Sr. and Marjorie Page Hurley. Ed served our country on the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Randolph in the Mediterranean Sea during World War II. Ed was a member of Abba’s House Southern Baptist Church in Hixson.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Hurley, daughter, Sundy Dalton, and sister, Lydia Lee Cobb.
He is survived by sons, Edward Harrison Hurley III (Butch) and wife Annie of Fayetteville, N.C., Mark Hurley and wife Sue of Cameron, N.C., Ted Osborn and wife Pamela of Boulder, CO and Jim Osborn and Jennifer of Tacoma, Wa.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel, on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 4-7 p.m. A chapel service will be held at Chattanooga Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Garden Cemetery.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donation are made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
