Martha Stone
Martha Marie Perry Stone, 92, of Flintstone, died at home on October 25, 2015.
Martha was born in Chattanooga, on June 17, 1923, to Hubert H. Sr. and Marie A. Perry.
After graduating Chattanooga High School in 1941, she worked at Loveman’s Department Store eventually becoming a Kindergarten teacher from 1972-1975 at Chattanooga Valley Elementary. She was a lifelong member of Flintstone Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Her passions included God and her family.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Marie Perry; brother Hubert “Buster” Perry, Jr.; husband, Edgar Jesse Stone, Jr; Children, Anna M Hill; Edgar Jesse “Butch” Stone III; and Pamela L. Lane.
She is survived by her brother, Charles S. Perry of Flintstone; son-in-law, James R. Hill of Red Bank; Granddaughter, April L. Lane of Flintstone; grandsons, Ed Hill (Emily) of Red Bank and Chris Lane (Tracy) of Chattanooga; great-granddaughter, Sophia Lane of Chattanooga; daughter-in-law, Helen M. Stone of Chattanooga, grandsons, Edgar Jesse Stone, IV (Katie) of Hixson and Stephen F. Stone (Amber) of San Diego; great-granddaughters, Isabella and Gabrielle Stone of San Diego and Ella and Lorelei Stone of Hixson as well as several nieces and nephews. All who knew and loved her will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
