Chattanooga State Employee Appreciation Luncheon Supports Food Bank

  • Saturday, December 12, 2015

During the annual Holiday Employee Appreciation Luncheon on Dec. 9, employees were asked to donate canned food items and/or make donations to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

Recruiting Specialist Dale Grisso reported that college personnel donated 871 pounds of non-perishable food and that monetary donations of $169 were received. All contributions will help provide meals for Chattanooga neighbors in need.

In celebration of the season, all employees were presented with a specially created 50th Anniversary ornament and treated to a viewing of the 50th Anniversary video. Drawings for donated gift cards and one La-Z-Boy recliner brought holiday cheer to many. Those who had a label affixed to the bottom of their chair received a beautiful poinsettia from their table. Topping the day off was an announcement naming this year’s Excellence Award winners: Debbie Poteet, representing Clerical/Support Staff and Vicki Headrick from the Professional Staff Association.

For more information about Chattanooga State, see www.chattanoogastate.edu. Chattanooga State will be closed for the holidays beginning Dec. 25 and reopen on Jan. 4. Classes begin Jan. 19.
