Norma Francis Pedigo Brown, 93, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, March 14, 2015.  

She was born on Feb. 12, 1922, in Chattanooga. She was the daughter of the late Ether and Elena Pedigo. Norma graduated from Central High School in 1940 and she resided in Prairie Peninsula in Hixson from 1966 to 2011. She was the executive secretary for Gilman Paint and Varnish Company for 25 years and she served 27 years as the bookkeeper of the family furniture business, Brown’s Warehouse, Inc.  She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Golden Gateway and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Ernest L. Brown, Sr.; and granddaughter, Christy Gail Brown Burr.

She is survived by her devoted son, Ernie Brown (Lynda Brown); two grandchildren, Charlie Brown (Amie Brown) and Julie Brown Kesler (Will Kesler); eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Imogene Pedigo St. Claire and Gail Pedigo Pike; two nieces, Teresa St. Claire and Cindy Cagle and one nephew, Stephen Pike.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, at 3 p.m. at the Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel in Hixson with Elder Tom May officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 17, from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the Walter E. Boehm Birth Defects Center, 975 East Third Street, Chattanooga, TN 37403.
