Children’s Hospital Nurse Practitioner Recognized For Child Abuse Advocacy

  • Tuesday, April 14, 2015
For the third year in a row, the Child Abuse Protection Team at T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital at Erlanger has been recognized by the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hamilton County.

The One with Courage Awards Dinner on April 9 celebrated champions of children who enrich their lives through help, hope and healing and honor individuals who support the children through giving, service and voluntarism.

This year’s event recognized Ashley O’Barr, a pediatric nurse practitioner at Children’s Hospital, as the Child Protection Investigation Team Member of the Year.
The award honors Ms. O’Barr for the dedication, service and advocacy she provides to the team and patients.  Her role on the team provides medical expertise and treatment to the victims of sexual assault.

Other Children’s Hospital team members recognized by CAC in recent years include Lillie Rucker, CMA; Julie Zielinski, MD; and Karla Garcia, MD.  They each won awards for their service to the children and caring for victims of child abuse.
