Robert Steven Leonard, 62, of Chattanooga, died on May 14, 2015. He died unexpectedly of a heart attack.

He was born in Johnson City, Tn., on April 25, 1953. Steve graduated from Science Hill High School. He later attended The University of Tennessee, where he met his wife of 39 years, Deborah Barker Leonard. They were married on May 22, 1976.

Steve worked in sales and management for the Super Oil, Aqua Pet, PennPlax and Phillips Pet Food and Supply Companies throughout his career. He was an avid reader and enjoyed bird watching, grilling, fantasy baseball and loved his Scottish terrier, Mattie.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah B. Leonard of Chattanooga, children, Emily (Jon) Palan of New York City, Seth (Ellyn) Leonard of Raleigh, parents, Robert R. and Jane P. Leonard of Johnson City, siblings, Jeff D. Leonard and Melinda L. (Kennie) Boling of Johnson City, and nieces and nephews, S.J. Leonard, Jessica L. Blevins and Bradley W. Boling.  

Following cremation, a private observance will be held for family and friends in Tennessee. There will be no services.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
