Eddie Wayne Gentry, 53, of Ellijay, Georgia, formerly of Summerville, Georgia, died on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at his residence.

Mr. Gentry was born on April 8, 1962, in Summerville, the son of Ethel Mae Gentry DeBerry and the late J. R. Gentry.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was employed with Total Comfort Heating and Air.

Mr. Gentry is survived by his wife, Melessia Hunter Gentry; mother, Ethel Mae Gentry DeBerry; sons and daughter-in-law, Justin Ryan and Jamie Gentry, Skyler Chase Ewing, and Hunter McHugh Gentry; a daughter, Laurie Jane Elizabeth Gentry; step-sons, Aaron Curtis and Zach Curtis; brothers, Johnny and Kathy Gentry and Terry Gentry, stepsisters, Rhonda and Gwen Brown, Tabitha and Rodney Allen, step-brother, Ron Deberry.

Funeral services for Mr. Gentry will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 4, at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jason Cowart officiating. Interment will follow in the Summerville Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Terry Ray, Zach Curtis, Aaron Curtis, Blake Gentry, Austin Gentry, Greg Wofford, and Jacob DeBerry. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Teloga Baptist Church.

Mr. Gentry will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, May 3.
