Muriel E. "Mama Murriel" Sims, 93, of Dunlap, Tennessee, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at her home.
She had been a member of the Hwy 28 Church of God for 39 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Minnie Rogers; husband, George T. Sims; daughter, Patricia Joy Sims; grandson, David Lee Sims; brothers, Oscar, Dennis, Earl and W.L. Rogers; and sisters, Bertha Everett and Pat Layne.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry Lee Sims and Roger Dale Sims; grandchildren, Sherry Sims Cagle, Michael K. Sims, Laci (Danny) Nelson and Christopher (Kelly) Sims; five great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby McGlothen; special friend, Pauline "Polly Bill" Smith; and loyal dog, Hobo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.CST Wednesday, Jan. 6 in the Ewton Funeral home Chapel with Rev. Dan Rains officiating. Burial will be in Sequatchie County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 4 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5.
