Tranco Logistics announces the appointment of Joe E. Taylor as vice president of business development. He will be responsible for retaining and developing new business for Tranco’s warehouse and distribution business.

Mr. Taylor is a native of Morristown, Tn., and a graduate of The University of Tennessee Knoxville with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.

Mr. Taylor’s Chattanooga area career began at Dixie Yarns, Inc (now The Dixie Group) as the plant laboratory supervisor, and was soon promoted to the quality director of the Apparel Yarn and Thread Division for seven factories in Tennessee and North Carolina.

"His passion for producing high quality products, delivering customer solutions and his human engagement skills, launched his sales career; beginning in Charlotte, NC for seven years, then back to Chattanooga covering 6 states," officials said.

After 18 years with Dixie, Mr. Taylor joined Dealers Warehouse Company in Knoxville as sales manager. There he lead the sales team to expand their territory and grew the 50 year old building materials business 12% in three years.

Desiring to return to Chattanooga, he joined Kenco Logistic Services in 2002. During his 14-year tenure at Kenco, as director of sales, VP operations and VP of sales, he devoted his energy to Kenco building “team comradery”, strengthening existing customer relationships, and adding many new businesses to the Kenco family of customers, officials said.

Mr. Taylor and his family reside on Lookout Mountain and is known for his unending service to customers and support to the people he meets both at work and elsewhere. He is committed to his growing family at home and to his church.
