Donne B. Wright, 87, of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, died on July 22, 2016.
She was a vibrant and gracious woman with a deep faith and a thankful heart. She loved and appreciated her family and friends, the beauty of the earth, and the Scriptures.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Friday, July 29, at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, Signal Mountain, with the Reverend Derrick C. Hill officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and from 1-1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at the University Cemetery in Sewanee, Tn. at a later date.
Donne was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Spencer H. Wright; her parents, George E. and Mildred H. Bentley; her son-in-law, Wallace C. Adcox II; and her brother-in-law, David W. Huddle.
Her survivors include her daughters, Anne W. Adcox; Karen W. Mahler (Ken); and Elizabeth W. King (Jimbo); her six grandchildren, Andrew W. Mahler (Anne Garland); Laura A. Goggans (Caleb); Samuel C. Mahler; John L. Adcox (Katie); James A. King IV; and Spencer W. King; her two great-grandchildren, Austen E. Goggans; and Parker J. Adcox; and her sisters, Dolores B. Kent (Ki) and Mary B. Huddle.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the compassionate and expert care given by her personal caregivers and the staff at Alexian Village of Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Bentley Bells at The University of the South, 735 University Avenue, Sewanee, Tn. 37383.
