Linda Diane McKinney, of Cleveland, Tennessee, died on Saturday August 27, 2016.

She was born in Murphy, NC and raised by her grandmother, Linnie Mae Zervas in Cleveland, TN. Linda was a seamstress who had a love for writing, painting, and drawing. After she was saved, she loved going to church and praying for others. It was actually her mission to pray for others and to be a help to her family. Later in life she was blessed to be able to travel and be a great help where she was needed. She had a wonderful, compassionate, caring soul, and she will be missed dearly by her four children, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother Linnie Mae Zervas; grandfather, Harry Zervas; mother Mary Lou Kilpatrick; father John Kilpatrick; and a favorite uncle Doc Zervas from Sweet Home, OR.

Survivors include her children, Janice & Matt Stewart of Old Fort, Teresa & Phillip Lawson of Athens, Mary & Basil Nunley of Riceville and Emanuel & Jeannie Burrell of Cleveland; grandchildren, Taylor & Nathan Marr of Cleveland, Payton, Brenden, & Charity Lawson of Athens, Abigail Hunter & Cain Nunley of Riceville, Justin & Joshua Burrell & Jack Burton of Cleveland, Chandler, Carley, & Chloe Stewart of Old Fort; great-grandchildren, Drake & Grace Marr of Cleveland; two brothers, Michael Kilpatrick of Detroit MI and John & Karen Kilpatrick of Sinclair Shores MI; one sister Janice Motyka of Mobile AL; a special Uncle Jack Zervas of Aurora OR; special cousins Billie & Paul Dunn of Athens; and many extended family members.

A celebration of her life is planned for Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Rd in Cleveland, TN with pastor Rick Mikle and pastor Phillip Lawson officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug. 30 from 5-7 p.m. in the funeral home parlor. 

The interment will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. in the Lee Cemetery with Matt Stewart, Basil Nunley, Nathan Marr, Brenden Lawson, Payton Lawson, and Shane Cansler serving as pallbearers. 

Companion Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
