Robert O'Neal
Robert G. O’Neal, 78, of Chattanooga, died on August 4, 2016.
He was a member of the Church of God on Highway 28 in Dunlap and Bibleway Baptist Church. He served as a prison minister for several years at Hamilton County, Bledsoe Country and Sequatchie County prisons; as well as the state penitentiary. He was a member of the Gideon’s International and the owner of R.R. Construction Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Geneva O’Neal and brothers, James and Randy O’Neal.
Survivors include his loving wife, Reda O’Neal of Chattanooga; sons, Terry (Barbara) O’Neal of Chattanooga, Brian (Sharon) O’Neal of Jasper and Lebron O’Neal of Georgia; step-son, Ivan Calhoun of Manchester, KY; and daughter, Glenda (John) Rhea of Nashville; brothers, Neal Wayne O’Neal of Spencer, TN, Bill O’Neal of Huntsville, AL, and Mike O’Neal of Huntsville, AL; sisters, Anna Sharbono of Birmingham, AL, Kathy (Bill) Jordan of Marietta, GA, and Wanda (Bob) Martin of IN; granddaughters, Megan Ryder, Sarah O’Neal and Ashtyn Calhoun; grandsons, Stewart O’Neal, Lebron O’Neal Jr., Ethan O’Neal, and Jeremy Calhoun; along with 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, in the funeral home chapel. Reverend Jimmy Lee, Mike Manning and Dan Raines will preside. Interment will follow at Lusk Cemetery.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8.
