David Roy Walker, 85, of Pikeville, Tennessee, died on Thursday, September 22, 2016.
He was a big Nascar fan and also loved horses, farming, and storytelling. David was a “member” of the “Scottie’s Breakfast Crew” which will be serving as honorary pallbearers. He was a member of the Electric Power Board and retired after 41 years of service.
David was preceded in death by parents, Roy and Katherine Eddings Walker; sisters, Norma Jean Edwards and Martha Sue Gibbs; and grandchild, David Walker.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Smith Walker; sons, Eddie Walker, Pikeville and Dennis (Sharon) Walker; daughters, Sabrina (Wayne Schutt) Walker and Jan (Gary) Hankins, Pikeville; sister, Carolyn (Clyde) Beard, Tampa, FL.; grandchildren, Crystal (David) Gladden, Patrick Walker, Jill Mitchell, Maddy Schutt, Peyton Schutt, Jody (Staci) Smith, Misty (Tommy) Selby, Kerry (Amber) Smith, Tiwanna (Brian) Bricker, Johnathan Hankins and Jessica (Adam) Grissom; great-grandchildren Colby Reed, John-David Gladden, Alli, Josi, Brady, Mason, Eli, and Madi Smith, Tori Bricker, Jackson Hankins, Jaderian and Isom Grissom; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
A Celebration of David’s life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25 in the funeral home chapel with burial in Collier Cemetery.
The friends will receive visitors from 3-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.
