Sergeant Iran Meadows Identified As Off-Duty Police Officer Involved In Shootout On Highway 58 Saturday Night

A man was injured during a shootout on Highway 58 late Saturday night.

 

The ongoing investigation limits the amount of information that can be provided at this time. The preliminary investigation has determined that a Chattanooga State Police officer working an extra job while off-duty fired his weapon in the direction of  a shooting suspect.

 

Due to the public’s interest in the matter, the Chattanooga Police Department, after consultation with and permission from the Chattanooga State Police Department, identified the officer involved as Sergeant Iran Meadows.

 

Due to safety concerns, the victim's name is being withheld.
