In the city election that begins this Wednesday, Feb. 15, Chattanoogans have an opportunity to send a strong new leader to the mayor’s office. Larry Grohn is a compassionate conservative candidate that both liberal and conservative voters can support.
He is smart, reasonable, and genuinely dedicated to making Chattanooga a better place. He will do so by standing up for regular citizens (rather than wealthy out-of-towners, corporate/union donors, and PACs) and by making decisions aimed at reducing violence, fixing roads, and promoting economic prosperity (good jobs and affordable housing) for all of its residents.
In Larry Grohn’s case, being conservative means not wasting taxpayers’ money on things like paying a New York City college professor hundreds of thousands of dollars for an anti-crime plan that was available for free via 30 minutes of internet research (and which hasn’t worked). It also means providing affordable housing and job training to people who need it, rather than giving millions of dollars in corporate welfare to rich developers who don’t need it.
I encourage everyone to vote in this election, and specifically to vote for Larry Grohn. He is a good, honest, and ethical man, and he’ll make Chattanooga a better place for those who have been left behind as well as those who haven’t.
