Creative Discovery Museum’s sixth annual Chocolate Festival will be on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 12-4 p.m.
This year’s event will focus on the roots of chocolate and the cultural ties between chocolate production and Guatemala.
Guests will have the opportunity to make their own cocoa butter lotion, sample different types of chocolate, participate in kitchen lessons, and discover through a simulated environment how chocolate pods are picked, fermented, dried, roasted and blended to make different forms of chocolate.
Timed events include:
- 12 p.m.: Chocolate Mousse Demonstration and Tasting
- 1 p.m.: Chocolate Truffles
- 1:30 p.m.: Chocolate Pie Eating Contest
- 2 p.m.: Chocolate Decorative Flowers
- 3 p.m.Chocolate Chip Baking Class
Chocolate isn’t just a sweet treat. The Chocolate Festival celebrates chocolate's history, science and appeal.
