Adam Drake Delagarza, 40, appeared before Judge Travis McDonough.

He earlier pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

On Feb. 10, 2017, the Chattanooga Police Department responded to a call of a suspicious person walking across the bridge at 600 Highway 153 northbound. While dealing with the suspicious person, Delagarza backed up on the side of Highway 153 and collided with another car. He then sped away. Chattanooga Police eventually arrested him after a car and then foot chase and located the firearm and meth.

Delagarza was arrested in 2015 following an incident in Fort Oglethorpe. The resident of Dalton at the time was charged with obstruction of officers, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, burglary, and first-degree criminal damage to property.

Officers checked out a report of Delagarza pointing a gun at another man on Alemia Drive shortly after 5 a.m. The other man also said Delagarza threatened to kill him. He said he could hear the click of Delagarza pulling the trigger. Delagarza was found trying to hide in the attic under some insulation.
