Ooltewah High Placed On Lock-Down After Social Media Threat; No Threat Found To Exist

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office school resource officers investigated a threat received by a student via social media at Ooltewah High School. As a precaution, the school was placed on Lock-Out which limited non-HCDE personnel to the school.

The reporting student involved in the chat contacted the school resource officer.

At that time, HCDE personnel were made aware of the incident.
 
Immediately HCSO School resource officers began to investigate.
 
At the conclusion of the investigation, it was determined that no threat was found to exist.
 
Students were dismissed on Wednesday as normal.
