U.S. Army Veteran Retired From U.S. Pipe After 30 Years

Paul Swanson, 86, of Hixson, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.

 

Paul retired after 30 years with U.S. Pipe as general superintendent. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the Soddy Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite of Chattanooga, and the Alhambra Shrine. He was also a three-time President of the Foundry Society, served as President at the Chattanooga First Federal Credit Union for 50 years. He was also an avid golfer and baseball player.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Steve and Nettie Swanson.

 

Paul is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Swanson; brother, Raymond (Geraldine) Swanson; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services with military honors will be held at Hamilton Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, with Pastor Edwin Prescott and Chad Gibson officiating. Entombment will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

 

The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, Nov. 23, from noon until service time at the funeral home.
