Buzzi Unicem USA - Signal Mountain Cement Holds Food Box Drive To Benefit Marion County Community Ministries

  • Monday, December 2, 2019

The employees of Signal Mountain Cement, a local division of Buzzi Unicem USA, headquartered in Bethlehem, Pa., have stepped up to the plate and hit another home run, officials said.

Most recently, the plant held a “Food Box Drive” for Thanksgiving in support of Marion County Community Ministries. A great deal of the plant employees live in Marion County and they have selected the Ministry as their charity of choice for the past three years.

Sandy Watkins, HR Administrator for the plant, had the idea of boxing up a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings except for meat. The employees donated enough money to stuff over 90 boxes.

As is always the case, there was a friendly competition between departments to see who could donate the most. The maintenance department won by $15 with the production department close behind. In the end, the real winner is Marion County Community Ministries.
