CFC Raises Over $750,000 In Ownership Share Offer As Deadline Nears

  • Wednesday, May 29, 2019

The campaign giving fans near and far the opportunity to invest in the Chattanooga Football Club draws to a close at midnight on Saturday, shortly after the boys in blue welcome Georgia Revolution to Finley Stadium. In just under five months, the team has raised over $750,000 from over 2,700 investors in all 50 states and 25 countries around the world.

“It’s mind blowing when you think about it,” said Tim Kelly, board chair, Chattanooga FC.

“There’s something truly authentic about a club saying ‘we’re a part of this community, and that will never change.’ This is a line in the sand for American soccer, and we hope that other clubs across the country will join us. Supporter ownership is a very common practice throughout the world, and it’s just one more way to demonstrate our permanent commitment to the community and the region we all love.”

While the ownership campaign winds to a close, the NPSL regular season continues to heat up. Georgia Revolution will make its first visit to Finley Stadium this year. The Revs are still searching for their first win through three matches, having drawn once and lost twice. Coach Elliott will be sure that there is no let down from last weekend’s surprising result against La Liga’s Real Betis.

“As anyone who has watched the last few seasons can attest, there are no off weekends in the NPSL,” said Bill Elliott, head coach and general manager, Chattanooga FC. “Teams come to Finley Stadium and they give us their best, no matter the record. I’m excited to see our team come together and give our new owners a show.”

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m., gates open at 6 p.m. Tickets are available now at CFCtix.com and Winder Binder on Frazier Avenue for $10 in advance, $12 on Saturday.
