Mary Evelyn Estes, 90, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, in a local hospital.  

She was born May 14, 1929 in Chattanooga to the late Robert & Lillie King.    

She was a graduate of Chattanooga Central High School and a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. 

Mrs. Estes retired from Scott Equipment Company after many years of service.  She loved crafts and painting with her “Frogmore Sisters”. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Estes, Jr.; son-in-law, Bill Ridge; and brother-in-law, Sydney Johnson. 

Survivors include her children, Frank (Denise) Reed and Bobby (Pam) Reed, of Ooltewah,  and Cheryl Ridge of Knoxville; siblings, Robert (Barbara) King, Jr. of Cleveland, James (Ann) King and Frances Johnson of East Ridge; grandchildren, Hope(Dennis) Rhinehart, Robby (Angela) Reed, Amy (Neil) Highfield, Jeremy (Jennifer) Ridge, Dana (Jason) Mull, and Kristen (Jason) Harding; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Aug. 15, from 4-8 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 16, from 10–11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 16, at 11:30 a.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel with Rev. Mike Steele officiating. 

Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.  Pallbearers will be Robby Reed, Neil Highfield, Seth Highfield, Jeremy Ridge, Jason Harding, and Jason Mull.   

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Estes’ memory to Crossroads Baptist Church, (Women’s Ministry), 9122 Ooltewah/Georgetown Road, Ooltewah, TN  37363. 

Arrangements are by the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 8214 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
