Kevin and Elena Dillon announce the launch of their new Home Helpers Home Care in-home care business northeast of Chattanooga.
Home Helpers is a franchise specializing in comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers and individuals needing recuperative and continuing assistance. Home Helpers also offers Direct Link, its proprietary line of 24/7 medical alert systems, including a fall sensor with GPS locator and an automated medication dispenser.
The Dillon’s locally-owned franchise serves Cleveland, Polk County, Bradley County, McMinn County, Ootewah, Collegedale, Athens and the surrounding areas.
Home Helpers offers free in-home consultations and works with each client to create a flexible, affordable care plan based on a person’s individual needs. Services offered include care such as grooming, bathing, ambulation, medication management and care management as well as respite care, meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, companionship and transportation. Home Helpers specializes in helping families care for their loved ones so they can focus on spending quality time together, said officials.
“Being able to have someone help you at home rather than relying solely on family or having to move into a facility with some level of caregiving support can make a huge difference on your quality of life," said Mr. Dillon. "We want to help people maintain their independence and their dignity by providing the kind of assistance they need with a level of care that’s unmatched in our market. The national franchise office has high expectations for us and we have high expectations for ourselves and for our caregivers, which makes a difference."
“Home Helpers is unique because, at all levels, we’re about building strong relationships from the corporate team, through our team and down to our clients," said Mrs. Dillon. "That’s how you build trust and that’s key to what we do."
Prior to Home Helpers, Mr. Dillon spent the last 31 years in the motion picture industry, where he oversaw numerous post-production facilities with hundreds of employees. Mrs. Dillon was a stay-at-home mom for many years and has worked as a caregiver, ran her own travel agency and is a published young adult author. Mrs. Dillon also understands what’s it like to care for a loved one – she helped care for her mother, father and a good friend while they were all suffering from cancer.
“We had a calling to own our own business and do something service oriented that could really make a difference in people’s lives," said Mrs. Dillon. "I remember, when my mother was dying, she was worried about the idea of having to go a facility or a hospital. She was a very private person and she would have been miserable. When we looked into opening Home Helpers, we saw an opportunity to create an excellent, compassion-driven experience for the clients, the caregivers and the community. That’s what we’re looking forward to doing with Home Helpers.”
