Charlie Prince Ledford, 75, of Benton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was a well known carpenter and an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Annie Ledford; parents, Charles B. and Sally Howard Ledford; brothers, Luther Ledford, Melvin Ledford, Bill Ledford and Clyde Ledford; and sister, Louise Brown.
He is survived by his wife of almost 32 years, Carolyn Ann Ledford; sons, Kevin A. (Elois) Ledford, of Benton, Damon P. (Shaune) Ledford, of Ocoee, Tommy A. Ledford, of Benton and John B. (Tonya) Ledford, of Blue Ridge, Ga.; grandchildren, Sophia Hamby, Kevin C. (Miranda) Ledford, Kayla Green, Megan Ledford, Daniel Ledford and LeeAnn Ledford; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, JoAnn (Jerry) Blackwell and Helen Ledford, of Kentucky.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Reverend Lee Ingram officiating. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Cookson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with Kevin Ledford, Damon Ledford, K.C. Ledford, Daniel Ledford, Wes Harbison and Lat Teasley serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at the funeral home, prior to the service.
