Star Party And Live Bluegrass Music At Cloudland Canyon Is Oct. 5

Cloudland Canyon State Park will host a Star Party on Saturday, Oct. 5, conducted by the Barnard Astronomical Society and sponsored by the Staff and Friends of Cloudland Canyon State Park.

"Come see the wonders of the night sky through our telescopes," organizers said.  "We will also be observing the planets Jupiter and Saturn and DSO's (Deep Sky Objects) like star clusters, nebulae and other galaxies, like our own Milky Way."

Meet at the starting point of the Disc Golf Course from 8-10 p.m. Astronomy programs are free to all. Usual parking fee at the park applies. If the weather is “iffy” call 941-544-3420 after 6  that day for update.

Warm up with live Bluegrass music before the star party, starting at 7 p.m.
