Anthony Houston, president and chief operating officer of CHI Memorial, is leading the American Heart Association’s brand-new Heart Challenge locally. "Hamilton County’s number one health threat is heart disease. Luckily 80 percent of heart disease deaths can be prevented," he said.
Heart Challenge is a comprehensive approach to partner with local companies and create a happier, healthier workforce. Included in the campaign are Heart Walk, CycleNation, Field Day and Fit Challenge to give employers and employees opportunities to get involved in the fight against heart disease and stroke.
“At CHI Memorial, we know firsthand the impact that heart disease is having in our community,” said Mr.
Houston. “Heart Challenge is a fun way to engage our associates in heart healthy activities while spending time connecting with coworkers. There are many stressors people face today and bringing some healthy fun to the workplace helps combat burn out.”
Mr. Houston joined CHI Memorial in 2019 and has more than 18 years of healthcare leadership experience with complex health systems. He has a strong background in all aspects of acute care hospitals, as well as senior leadership experience in finance, facility planning, physician practice performance, growth and merger and acquisition activity.
