Elsie Holmes Park In Ringgold to Feature Elsie Enduro Trail Ultra Feb. 29

  • Tuesday, January 7, 2020

The first annual Elsie Enduro Trail Ultra will take place Saturday, Feb. 29, at Catoosa County’s Elsie Holmes Park in Ringgold.

Runners will complete the 2.5-mile trail loop every 40 minutes until only one runner remains. Runners will endure just over a 400-foot elevation gain in the short 2.5-mile course.

Once a runner completes their laps, participants are invited to celebrate their achievements in the Creature Comforts’ Cooldown Tent, featuring brews by the Athens-based brewery.

“Many runners in our local trail running communities are not familiar with Elsie Holmes Park,” said race coordinator Marcy Cirlot Kernea. “This race provides an opportunity to promote the beauty of Catoosa County, enjoy some friendly competition, support a great cause and enjoy some amazing Creature Comforts Classic City Lager.”

All proceeds from the Elsie Enduro will benefit the Evitt Foundation, a 501c3 charity which promotes child welfare and education.  In 2019, the Evitt Foundation, in partnership with Ringgold Telephone Company and the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, provided fresh groceries to approximately 2,000 local families suffering from food insecurity.
