Held Long Career With Combustion Engineering

Bill Goodwin, 86, of East Ridge, went home to be with the Lord of Friday, October 30, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family.

 

He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and was retired from Combustion Engineering after 34 years of service.

 

He was a member of Stanley Heights Baptist Church.

 

Bill was an avid woodworker and he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ruby Goodwin.

 

He is survived by two daughters, Susie Waller, East Ridge and Debbie (Tab) Barrow, Chattanooga;  and two sons, David (Charmaine) Goodwin, Hixson, and Rob (Carrie) Goodwin, Chattanooga; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Brent Baughman officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

 

The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for all their loving care during Mr. Goodwin’s illness.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Special Kid’s of Murfreesboro, or a charity of your choice.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.

 

All CDC guidelines will be observed during the visitation and service including face coverings and social distancing.
