The annual Turkey Drop has been a Baylor Middle School tradition for nearly 20 years. Originally organized by Amy Cohen’s advisory group, the Middle School Advisory Council took up the charge after Ms. Cohen’s retirement last year. Middle school representatives organized every aspect of the event this year with tremendous success, said officials.

Determined to increase division-wide participation, the MSAC sought to exceed the previous record for pounds of donated turkey . On Friday, Nov. 13, more than 2,277 pounds of turkeys were donated to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, surpassing the previous record of 1,651 pounds. In addition, the division-wide turnout was unprecedented, with sixth grade contributing 58 turkeys; seventh grade, 58;  and eighth grade, 57.
