Diane Jeanette "Jenny" Shue Pletcher
Diane Jeanette "Jenny" Shue Pletcher, 71, of Ringgold, Georgia, our loving wife and mother, ran into the arms of Jesus on October 31, 2020 after a six-week battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Jenny was extremely gifted by the Lord in a variety of creative areas and shared those gifts with others. After 30 years of teaching Art, Crafts, and Yearbook in Hamilton County Schools, she retired and most recently used her creative skills as a seamstress in her own business, Creative Touch Custom Draperies. She also enjoyed basket and paper weaving, which she used to create beautiful works of art.
More than any job, Jenny was devoted to her family and her church and spent her life serving both. She was a member of the Church of God since 1974 and worshipped at Redemption Point COG since 2004, where she served in many capacities, including ladies board, decorator, and elder. She was married to the love of her life, Craig, for 51 wonderful years and together they served the Lord and created a legacy of love for their family, her greatest accomplishment.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Craig H. Pletcher, of Ringgold, GA, their devoted daughters, son-in-laws, and grandchildren, Angela C. Johns (Tony, Whitney & Wesley) of Douglasville, GA and Dawn P. Maynor (Matt, Melayna, Maddux & McCall) of Ringgold, GA, her mother, Ercel B. Shue of Greensboro, NC, her brother, Ernest L. Shue of Summerfield, NC, as well as extended family in NC and FL. She is preceded in death by her father, William E. Shue, and brother, Ronald P. Shue.
All local covid mandates for wearing a mask and social distancing will be in place during visitation and the service.
Those unable to attend the service may view it on online on the church’s website at: redemptionpoint.net
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, at noon at Redemption Point Church of God with the Reverend Travis Ballinger, the Reverend Tony Johns and Matt Maynor officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.–noon at the church before the service.
The family recommends their special friends at Calico Florist in Soddy Daisy for floral arrangements.
Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
