The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission will meet in a special session on Friday, beginning at 9 a.m. The meeting will be a virtual meeting online with the commissioners participating remotely. The Commission will be voting on two items. The naming of the new executive director of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to replace Ed Carter, who announced his retirement which becomes effective at the end of May. The second vote will pertain to the restructuring of the Commission’s committees.
“This is truly history in the making as Ed Carter retires and we announce who will be taking over the reigns as the next person to serve as director of this Agency,” said TFWC Chairman Kurt Holbert.
“We are also working as a Commission to continually encourage hunting and fishing as well as managing new challenges with wildlife management that Tennessee is facing like chronic wasting disease in deer and Asian carp in our waterways. Restructuring some of our committees will allow us to better address some of these challenges.”
The public will be able to view the meeting live via the internet on the TWRA YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/tennesseewildcast/live. It will be recorded so that viewing later will also be possible.
