Lil' John Ownbey (#J0) of Cleveland won the Southeastern Limited Late Model series reschedule Independence Day Championship race at Ray Cook's Tricounty Racetrack Thursday night after last Friday's rainout halted the $1,500 to-Win event last week.

However, this is the team's first victory in the Tarheel state.
Friday night kicks off the two-week Southern Nationals 10 race mini series at Maryville's Smoky Mountain Speedway. The race pays $10,053 to-Win the Super Late Model feature and is available live on DirtonDirt.com with a subscription to the Internet website.
Racing begins Friday at 7 p.m. Georgian Brandon Overton, one of Dirt Late Model hottest racers in America this season, is the defending series champion.
