Dalton State Golf Program Shines On The Amateur Circuit

Members from the Dalton State Men's and Women's Golf teams faired very well in amateur tournaments this past weekend.
 
On the men's side, Ben Rebne, Matthew Cleary, and signee Steve Kibare from Canton posted top 10 finishes in the 99th Georgia Amateur Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club's Highland Course.
 
Rebne, the 2020 Jack Nicklaus Award winner for the NAIA, finished tied for sixth overall at 5-over 218. He saved his best for last with an even-par 71 in the final round after rounds of 73 and 74 in rounds 1 & 2.
 
Kibare got off to a hot start with a 3-under 68 to share the first-round lead with Deven Patel, a University of Virginia commit, while Cleary used a 1-under 70 in the second round to hop up the leaderboard.
Both Roadrunners finished tied for ninth with three other golfers.
 
On the women's side, Megan Donahue finished runner-up in the Greater Lafayette Women's City Golf Tournament. Donahue posted 5-over 150 to finish behind Ally Ross from Butler University who won the tournament for the third straight season.
