Barbara Reed
Barbara Jean Ballard Reed was born on Friday, August 28, 1942, in Madison, Georgia, to Geanie Maud Cash and Benny Roy Ballard. She departed this life on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at the age of 77, in a local hospital.
She became a member of Wiley Methodist Church at a young age. She was a member of the Women Methodist Association.
She graduated from Howard High School, Class of 1961. She was known as Barbara by her friends, classmates and co-workers. Her family called her Bobbie Jean.
She was a dedicated worker for SCT Yarns for 35 years. She only missed one week off work when she had the flu. She served as a trustee for Teamsters Union. She worked many years at the election polls for the Hamilton County Election Commission.
She was a devoted daughter, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her mother, Geanie Maud Cash; father, Benny Roy Ballard; grandparents, Corine and Lee Cash.
Survivors left to cherish her memories include her loving daughter, Miranda Ballard Robertson; son-in-law, Bradley Robertson; grandson, Braxton Robertson; and a host of cousins and friends. We will miss her so much! Gone, but not forgotten!
A public visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7.
A private funeral service will be held for the family. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
