Ronald McDonald House Charities Of Chattanooga Hosts Drive-by Parade For Scholarship Winners

  • Thursday, July 9, 2020

The senior class of 2020 may not be able to walk across the graduation stage or hold their diplomas up high alongside their peers. However, the 24 Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga scholarship winners are excited for a celebration all their own.

The Ronald McDonald House in Chattanooga is hosting a drive-by parade for the recipients of their scholarship, which is awarded to students who are after a college education. Cars will line the Ronald McDonald House of Greater Chattanooga's parking lot with signs, celebratory cheers, claps, and loud horns to celebrate the scholarship recipients. Graduates and attendees will stand safely apart to adhere to social distancing. It is a different type of celebratory parade, but one nonetheless.

The event will be on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at 200 Central Ave.

Scholarship winners have exceptional academic performance and value community service. The scholarship is funded by local Chattanooga McDonald's owner-operators and is administered by the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga.
