William “Bill” D. White, a well-known farm equipment mechanic in Bradley and surrounding counties, passed away August 10, 2020 after a short illness. He was a member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church since 1960. Bill was the 10th child out of 15 born to William Jefferson and Ethel Lee Kelly White.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Louise Nichols White and Irene Newman White, his wife of 31 years; one daughter, Judy White; one grandson, Dennis Brian Tinsley; and 13 siblings.
He is survived by his children, Jimmy (Jean) White, of Cleveland, Jerry (Diana) White, of Michigan and Joyce (Sam) Tinsley, of Cleveland; one sister, Ruth Hicks, of Michigan; two stepsons, Tony Newman and David Newman, of Athens; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Troy and Thelma Scoggins and family.
The family will receive friends in the parlor of Companion Funeral Home, 2415 Georgetown Road, NW, in Cleveland, on Wednesday, Aug. 12 from 5-8 p.m. A family graveside service will be held Thursday, Aug. 13 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with his grandsons serving as pallbearers.
