John Bode concentrates his practice on labor relations and employment opportunity. For more than three decades, Bode has served as lead trial counsel in numerous cases before state and federal agencies and courts and the National Labor Relations Board. He has extensive experience representing many prominent national, regional and Tennessee employers in union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining, arbitrations, strikes, decertification petitions, wage and hour and other state and federal audits.
Mark Degler concentrates his practice in the area of corporate law, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, business transactions, international law and taxation. He serves as corporate counsel to several of Miller & Martin's clients and has advised numerous clients on many acquisitions, mergers, reorganizations and sales of businesses, as well as various debt and equity securities offerings involving publicly and privately held companies. Mr. Degler serves as Chair of the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Group.
Charles (Chuck) Lee concentrates his practice primarily on employment law, corporate/commercial litigation and federal agency investigations and serves as Vice-Chair of the firm's Litigation Practice and Co-Chair of the Labor & Employment Practice. Mr. Lee is lead defense counsel for many major companies and other employers in connection with wrongful discharge, discrimination, retaliation, FLSA, ADA, FMLA and whistleblower claims. He advises employers with respect to minimizing exposure in connection with reductions-in-force (RIFs), workforce restructurings and day-to-day employment issues, as well as assists employers in designing, implementing and enforcing alternative dispute resolution (ADR) programs.
Ansley Moses practices in the area of federal and state taxation. His primary focus is assisting clients in tax planning in connection with business formations, transactions and reorganizations. Moses also has significant experience in representing exempt organizations in qualification and compliance matters. He also represents business clients before federal and state tax authorities in connection with audits, appeals and litigation.
Richard Rose concentrates his practice in the areas of healthcare fraud and abuse, construction litigation and commercial litigation. He represents and counsels hospitals, physicians, SNFs, home health agencies, hospice providers, DME providers, mid-level providers and other healthcare providers in healthcare fraud and abuse issues and litigation. Rose also represents and counsels clients in the insurance, healthcare, retail, real estate and manufacturing sectors regarding Information Security and Privacy, including responses to major data breaches, as well as compliance with HITECH, HIPAA, GLBA and other data retention and compliance laws.
Steve Stark concentrates his area of practice on patents, trademarks, copyrights and litigation matters. He has prosecuted well over a hundred U.S. and foreign patent applications which span a wide landscape of technologies, including various mechanical, electrical, chemical and business method inventions. Much of his patent work has been focused in the carpet, consumer product, packaging, transportation and medical instrument industries. Additionally, Mr. Stark has assisted clients in obtaining and maintaining hundreds of trademark registrations.
Randy Wilson, a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, concentrates his practice on general litigation including risk management, construction, healthcare and personal injury defense. He has provided significant risk management assistance for an international soft drink bottling company on files with potential catastrophic losses. Mr. Wilson regularly consults with local and regional general contractors on contract negotiations and drafting, risk management and construction disputes involving both small and multimillion dollar claims.
