Held Long Career As A Supervisor With Chattanooga Public Works

Curtis W. Watkins, 85, passed away on August 4, 2020.  

He was born in Athens, Ga., on Sept. 6, 1934. He was a supervisor employed with the City of Chattanooga for 42 years in the Public Works Department. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hixson. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Marian Watkins; parents, Thomas and Savannah Watkins; brother, Robert Watkins. 

Survivors include his sons; Michael (Delaphine) Watkins, Curtis (Angelia) Watkins, Kirby Carr; daughter, Lanita (Thomas) Westfield; sister, Juanita Haywood; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, host of other relatives and friends. 

Public viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, at the funeral home. A private funeral service will be held. Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens-East.
