Wilburn Thomas Grant II, passed away on August 5, 2020. He was born on Sept. 4, 1946 to the late Wilburn Thomas Grant and Mary Eleanor Hilliard Grant. Tom has lived in the Cleveland area for the past 40 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam war. He has been a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church for the 40 years that he has been in Cleveland, serving as a lay leader in many different capacities, such as senior warden, usher, and Children’s Sunday School teacher. He also attended the Men’s Prayer Breakfast regularly. He enjoyed “Hot Rods” and cars of every variety. Above all things, Tom loved his family and spending time with them.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 47 years, Sara Brown “Geneie” Grant; son, Wilburn Thomas Grant III “Trey” and wife, Lauren Elaine; daughter, Tamra L. Nelson; grandchildren, Wilburn Thomas Grant IV “Wyatt” and Everett Weston Grant; sister, Mary Anne Grant; and brother, John Grant and wife, Dianne. In addition to these he leaves behind numerous nephews and extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday Aug. 10 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, with burial to follow in the St. Luke’s Memorial Garden. A small family greeting time will be held at the church from 10:30-11 a.m. on Monday.
