Billy Joe Brady, 72, of Dayton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 13, 2020, in Rhea Medical Center.

He was born in Rhea County on Sept. 23, 1947, the son of the late Albert and Robbie (Flatt) Brady. He served his country with the US Army in Viet Nam and was a disabled Veteran. Billy retired from BASF after 37 years of employment. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard sales, and recently raising chickens. 

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara (Ray) Brady of Dayton, his sons, Chris (Tina) Miles of Spring City and Billy Joe Brady II of Dayton and his daughter Lisa (Tim) Gearrin of Dayton. He is also survived by his sisters, Sandy (Billy) Sims of Grandview and Linda (David) Horton of Grandview and his brothers, Lawrence (Betty) Brady of Grandview, and Jerry (Brenda) Brady of Mississippi. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Kaitlin Brady, Adam Grim, Cory (Jasmine) Miles, Brittany (Charlie) Potter-Francisco, Tabitha (Tyler) Clark, Clinton Turner, Cory (Madi) Gearrin, and Cayce (Carl) Huemiller, his nine great-grandchildren, Anslee Miles, Casen Miles, Lucy Grim, Arrow Grim, Collin Sanford, Savanna Barnes, Adleigh Clark, Jensen Clark, and Brooks Francisco. 

Funeral services with military honors for Billy will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Lane Davis officiating. Social distancing is strongly encouraged and masks will be required. He will be laid to rest on Wednesday at noon in the Garrison Cemetery in Dayton.
